Nanny and the girls visited the Animal Shelter. We met with three different dogs. We hope to adopt a dog soon, but not just yet. We are "dating" dogs.
First, we met Pacey. He was a runner. He didn't sit still much. Nanny just didn't get a good vibe from him. No reason just was not the dog for her. Nice dog. Good dog. For someone else.
Second, we met Candy. She was tall. A little taller than we might be able to have in our yard. She was very protective when a stranger came to talk with us. She just didn't like this man and she kept herself between us and him.
Last, we visited Sugar. She was a better size. She was shy but warmed up quickly. The stranger came again to talk with us. Sugar didn't like him either. She went after him and kept him away from us. She would sniff him but continued to bark.
Thoughts about dog dating. It is much like dating a spouse. You carefully think about their needs and how your needs match.
